Information Collected
For you to access certain services that we offer through the Community, we require you to become a member of our Community (“member(s)”) by providing us with your name, your email address, and your zip code (“Contact Information”). At your discretion, you may provide us with personal information in addition to your basic Contact Information.

If you post information on any of our chat groups, message boards or forums, such information you provide may be available to other members of the Community and other website visitors.

We automatically track and collect the following information when you visit our Community: your IP address, domain server, type of computer, and type of web browser. This information does not personally identify you but is helpful for us to improve your experience in our Community. We also use “cookies” to save your password so you do not have to reenter it each time you visit our Community.

Newsletters

We may use your Contact Information to send you information about our Community, information about our partners, or to contact you when necessary.

Choice Regarding Disclosure of Contact Information
You may choose not to provide us with any Contact Information. In such an event, you can still access and use some portions of the Community; however you will not be able to access and use portions of the Community that require your Contact Information.

Surveys & Polls
Often, we request information from you via Web surveys or polls. Your participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you may choose whether or not to disclose additional information. Information requested may include demographic information (such as zip code, age level), but no information that can identify any individual person will be collected. We will use survey information to monitor or improve the use and satisfaction of the Social Edge™ website.

Send This to a Friend
If a member elects to use our “Send this to a friend” function, we ask them for the friend’s email address. We will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the site. We store this information temporarily for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email.

Confidentiality and Security of Contact Information
Except as described in this Privacy Policy, we will not share your Contact Information with third parties, unless such disclosure is necessary (as determined in our sole discretion) to: (a) comply with a court order or other legal process; (b) protect the rights or property of Social Edge, the Skoll Fund, or any third party; or (c) enforce the Terms of Use.

We use reasonable measures to maintain the security of your Contact Information. However, no company, organization, or online community, including Social Edge and the Skoll Fund, can fully eliminate security risks associated with personal information.

Accessing and Updating Contact Information
To ensure that all of your Contact Information is correct and up-to-date, you may visit your personal profile at Member Directory. Through your personal profile you may review and update your Contact Information that we have already collected or choose whether or not you wish us to send you information about our Community or promotional material from some of our partners.

Other Disclosures

We may provide your personal information to third party service providers who work on behalf of or with Social Edge to provide some of the services and features of the Social Edge community and to help us communicate with the members of our community. However, these service providers do not have any independent right to share this information (expect pursuant to a legal requirement such as a subpoena or warrant).

Although we currently do not have a parent company, any subsidiaries, joint ventures, or other companies under a common control (collectively, “Affiliates”), we may in the future. We may share some or all of your personal information with these Affiliates, in which case we will require our Affiliates to honor this Privacy Policy.

If the assets related to the Social Edge site are acquired by another company, that company will possess the personal information collected by us and it will assume the rights and obligations regarding your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Other Limits to Your Privacy
Our Community contains links to other third party websites (“Linked Websites”). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of the Linked Websites. We also make chat groups, forums, message boards, and news groups available to you, but please understand that any information you disclose in these areas becomes public information. We have no control over its use and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose any personal information.

Information you disclose through the Communication Services (as that term is defined in the Terms of Use) may be available to other members and available on third party websites. Accordingly, such information is not subject to this Privacy Policy and we recommend that you always use caution when giving out any personally identifiable information about yourself.

Updates and Changes to Privacy Policy
We reserve the right, at any time and without notice, to add to, change, update or modify this Privacy Policy, by posting such change, update or modification on the Community. Any such change, update or modification will be effective immediately upon posting.
