I am 63, of Scots parentage, and have a Welsh ex-ballerina wife Annie, and sons Emlyn, now twelve, and David, now eight. We live in Southern California.
I worked during the millennial rollover as Senior Analyst at The Arlington Institute, a beltway think tank in Virginia, on the social impact of large and surprising changes. I'm also associated with the Center for Millennial Studies at Boston University.
My passion for the three years previous to our move to Virginia mostly went into designing playable variants on Hermann Hesse's Glass Bead Game, and talking about why I think they have important contributions to make in a slew of areas ranging from dream interpretation and conflict resolution via education and AI to the arts -- besides being simple, enjoyable games in their own right.
I am also very interested in mythic logic in general and (as you might have guessed) millennial fantasies in particular.
Right at the moment, I'm focusing on the Middle East and developing a tool for conflict analysis -- and hopefully, eventually, resolution!
