Fundación Namaste Guatemaya (FNG) has a rewarding opportunity for a dynamic Regional Program Director to lead our efforts in creating a comprehensive, scalable model intended to support micro-credit borrowers and encourage a successful departure from poverty. FNG is a newly created Guatemalan ONG and is affiliated with NamasteDirect, a microcredit organization in the U.S. NamasteDirect has funded the loans of over 3,500 micro-credit borrowers in Guatemala and Chiapas, the southern-most state in Mexico. FNG, together with NamasteDirect intends to fund the loans of thousands of more borrowers, while simultaneously providing business education programs and support. This is an exciting time to assume a key role in assuring we have the on-the-ground resources needed to create a successful program.
The Regional Program Director will lead the implementation of microcredit and income-generating educational field programs for thousands of low income women microentrepreneurs in Guatemala and southern Mexico.
Specific Responsibilities:
Candidates must:
Be fluent in both verbal and written Spanish and English
Possess a college degree
Understand both basic and advanced business concepts and have a good facility with numbers
Have program management experience
Be willing to travel throughout the region working both at a strategic level with cooperating ONGs and at a hands-on implementing level
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience in microcredit and/or education
Be passionate about this kind of economic development work and be client-centered
Be an effective manager of people
Be flexible and possess the ability to work with different forms and styles of communication
Be comfortable with and have past experience communicating and managing via web applications
Be open to and looking for new ways to advance the agenda of clients
Have experience working independent of daily supervision
Be focused on achieving goals and measuring progress along the way
Location: Antigua, Guatemala
Reports to: President of NamasteDirect, located in San Francisco, California, USA
Oversees: Part-time loan officers, business advisors, and vocational specialists
Schedule: Full-time, includes some weekends and evenings, travel throughout the country of Guatemala and Chiapas, Mexico, and semi-annually to San Francisco.

- Effectively seek out, hire, train, and manage significant numbers of part-time loan officers, business advisors, and vocational specialists to meet client needs.
- Submit progress reports on the implementation of the program
- Analyze successes and failures of the program and make suggestions for improvement and efficiency
- Administer credit
- Interact with the staff of NamasteDirect, its board and the board of FNG based in Guatemala, and all partner organizations
- Actively seek new partners for trainings and credit
- Organize regional training conferences for both clients and staff
- Oversight and performance of FNG administrative and accounting functions
- Represent FNG to the public in its service areas.
- Receive and oversee NamasteDirect donor groups and fellows
