World Malaria Day
Friday, April 25, 2008 - Check out the United Nations Foundation’s Nothing But Nets campaign
You can make a difference by becoming a part of this lifesaving NETwork. Check out what YOU can do to make a difference leading up to World Malaria Day:
• SEND A VIRTUAL NET:Play a new online game that challenges individuals to deliver as many virtual nets as possible before the sun goes down and malaria-carrying mosquitoes come out to bite. A generous sponsor will donate $10 for each person who signs up to play, so all you have to do is play an online game to save a life! Click here to play the game and send a net!
• HOST A NETS CHALLENGE:
Nets are an important part of many sports –basketball, soccer, volleyball, tennis, hockey and many more. Nets are also an important part of preventing malaria. Grab your friends, family, neighbors, and classmates and your favorite net to organize a sports challenge – like a 3 on 3 basketball game! It's simple. Click here to sign up and we’ll send you more information and ideas to host your NBN Sports Challenge.
Check out the NETS Challenge Toolkit for ideas!
• BECOME A CAMPUS REPRESENTATIVE:
If you are an undergraduate or graduate student on a college campus and you’re interested in sending nets and saving lives, sign-up to be a Nothing But Nets World Malaria Day Campus Rep! Click here to find out more information about what it means to be a Campus Rep and how you can get involved.
What’s the secret behind the success of the Nothing But Nets campaign? It’s YOU! Thanks to your commitment to eliminating malaria, together we’ve saved millions of lives – and together, we can cover a continent.
